Health Bridge Privacy Policy
Health Bridge is an Android app published by ManxJ ("the developer"). It reads your health data from Health Connect on your phone and turns it into a JSON summary you can copy or save. This policy explains what data the app reads, how it uses that data, and what it never does.
Summary
- Everything happens on your device. The app has no internet permission, so it can't send data anywhere.
- The app has no accounts, analytics, advertising, crash reporting or third-party SDKs.
- The app only reads. It never writes to, changes or deletes your Health Connect data.
- Data leaves the app only when you choose to copy the JSON or save it as a file. Before the first export, the app explains this and asks you to confirm.
Data the app reads
With your permission, the app asks Health Connect for read-only access to:
- Nutrition (required): energy, macronutrients, vitamins and minerals, meal type, time and source app for each record.
- Weight (optional): weigh-ins and their times.
- Steps (optional): daily step totals and each source app's own count.
- Exercise (optional): exercise sessions, their type, duration and source app.
You choose which of these to allow, and you can turn any of them off at any time in Health Connect.
How the data is used
The app reads these records only when you tap the read button, for the date range you pick. It uses them to:
- show daily totals, averages and data-quality notes on screen, and
- build a JSON export that you can copy to the clipboard or save to a file you choose.
The first time you copy or save, the app shows a notice explaining that the export contains your health data. It also explains that any app or service you share it with handles it under its own terms. Nothing is exported unless you accept. Copied data is marked as sensitive, so Android doesn't show it in its clipboard preview.
What you then do with an export, for example pasting it into an AI assistant or sharing it with someone, is up to you. That handling is covered by the privacy policy of whichever service you use.
Storage and retention
The app doesn't keep a database or history of your health data. Records are held in memory only while the app is open. The only thing the app stores is one setting: whether you've accepted the export notice. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes that setting. Android backup is disabled for the app. A file you save stays where you saved it until you delete it.
Sharing
The developer never receives your data, and the app doesn't sell, share or transfer it to anyone. With no network access, it can't.
Health Connect
Health Bridge's use of information received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data from Health Connect is used only to give you the summaries and exports described above. It isn't used for advertising, isn't sold, and isn't used to judge creditworthiness, insurance or employment.
Removing access
To revoke access, open Health Connect and go to App permissions → Health Bridge. Uninstalling the app also removes its access.
Not medical advice
Health Bridge is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Talk to a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Children
The app isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
